Weekend Update

Well, what a fun week! With all the household stuff ariving I’ve been spending most of the week unpacking and arranging things. AS it stands, I have all the boxes open and empty except for a few boxes of clothes and some office stuff and DAMN I have a lot of office stuff. I have no idea how I fit this stuff in my old place. I really need to go through and purge crap.

With most of the unpacking done I’ve been looking a what I still need to get in regards to storage and floor coverings. I know carpets and rugs aren’t cheap, but I think it will REALLY be worth it to get some. So, the list of things to get for the house are: TV, stereo, speakers, rugs, dinning room table/chairs and maybe a small kitchen arrangement/organizer thing. I know where I would go in the states, but here it’s not that easy. Oh well.. all things in good time.

So, in addition to unpacking and arranging I spent the first few days grabbing all the TV shows that I’ve missed over the past month. It’s been nice to be able to catch up on the shows and see the season finales. Lost was great and so was Scrubs, Las Vegas & My Name is Earl.. good stuff! Right now I’m watching 24 and I’ve got ER, CSI’s and The Unit left. Yeah for newsgroups and bittorrent. I did try to watch them on the Networks websites, those that would stream them, but alas, since I’m from a non US IP that didn’t work. And I know I can proxy them, but I wasn’t about to go through all that crap for a small low quality version. This is much better.

The past week at work has been good.. all of the Dutch workers where off Thursday for Ascension Day and then most of the rest where gone Friday. And of course with Monday being a holiday, most of the Government people where off Friday too. So the last few days of work have been pretty nice and quiet. Very relaxing. I managed to do a lot of work with Visio trying to figure our how the work network is laid out and where there are some points that we need to fix.

Other then that.. It looks like the rain is going to take a day or two off and then it should turn back into Seattle-type sprint weather. Personally, I really like it. It’s upper 60’s occasional rain and sun.. it’s nice. Tonight I’m going to probably go see X3 and maybe do some more work on the website. As you can see I’ve added a word cloud and and I started using the an ajax backlinks plugin for the tags and wiki pages. It’s a nice plugin, but it still doesn’t work just right. I’ve talked with the author.

I should also have some before and after pictures up soon. I’m still trying to figure out a good photo management situation and a gallery to display them.. but until then, you just get to deal with delays! :)
