Yeah, another post. This is a short one.. mainly just as a note about perlvs sed. Every now and then i want to do a mass replace on some text files in linux. I always had to look up the command line options and examples for sed since I can never seem to get it right. Today while running around someone pointed out this
perl -pi -e "s/search/replace/g;" *.txt
Bad Ass. No temp files or redirection or for statements or anything. Perl rules. Nuff said.
In other notes.. Things back to normal. Playing lots of BF 2142 (Chief Petty Office Silver.. w00t) and just working away on the job. Done a bit of reading and catching up on some movies and TV. Had a lan party last weekend and this weekend is the Superbowl. Needless to say I’m taking Monday off. hehehe
Some other quick news.. I’m heading to Poland and Denmark in June to see Pearl Jam for the 2007 Tour, in addition to DMB in Dublin in May. It’s good to be me.
