With my impending move to another world and the fact that my computers will be resting on a steamship for about a month, I decided that it was time for me to purchase a laptop. After picking up some credit with Apple I decided to pick up a new 1.83 MacbookPro. It’s the new hotness. Very bad ass. As I speak I have about 5 or 6 apps open and nothing seems to be slowing it down. My mini starts to get unhappy with a number of apps and tabs open and this one doesn’t even seem to care.
To make things better, Apple announced Boot Camp today! What a great idea. I was pretty stoked about the hackers that where apple to make a mac boot XP and now to see Apple providing the tools to do it natively, without any special tricks AND the drivers for all the hardware.. that just sealed the deal. And for icing on the cake, Apple offers a 8% discount to government employees. They looked at my ID, said OK and gave me the discount. So basically I got the 512 MB ram upgrade for about the price of $50 with no tax. Pimpolicious.
So right now I’m updating the OS so i can install Boot Camp and test the Windows install. This is going to be a great machine to travel with. Next I’ll start installing some tools in both OS‘s and maybe test out VMWare in Windows and try to run OSX in that.

Now that I got iSight (as part of the laptop) I think I’ll maybe go pick this up and test it out. What a great way to keep track of my DVD’s, Books and Music.
Have i mentioned that I love the mac?
