So, one of the guys at the office is looking at using Linux for our business center at an upcoming convention. “Cool idea” I say. Today he asked about being able to use the CACs to access AKO. “Good question” I say. Turns out, it’s not much of a problem at all. This Blog has some posts about what drivers to compile and in what order along with some tips on getting the normal Army SCR-331 to work with the drivers. Very cool. So I set it up and was able to log into a few CAC required sites with no problem. It was fantastic. The only problem now is that some of these damn European Army sites code only for IE and when you try to bring it up in Firefox all you get is a pretty blank page. Bastards.
It is nice that other people at the local office and at HQ are working with linux, giving it a try. It’s a good trend.
