Hup Holland Hup!

So, it’s more like 30c degrees lately. Considering that I used to live in Vegas that shouldn’t be to bad, but really.. 90+F degrees is still worm. Top that off with most places don’t have AC units it gets pretty warm in buildings. And no breeze doesn’t help either.

So Holland won their first game in the World Cup matches.. nice. I happened to be downtown around the shopping district when Holland scored. Everyone started honking their horns and shouting and signing. It was CRAZY. I had a friend back in DC who is from Poland.. she wasn’t very happy that they got beat.. and of course the US lost their first game too.. tough break. It’s pretty neat to watch a whole country get crazy about sport. I would watch some of it, but I don’t have a TV yet.. I want to save up to get a nice one. So eh.. I’ll catch it later.

This weekend I managed to pick up some DC adapters for my 120v gear and some new speakers. Why? Because having some of that gear on the transformer was making the power meter wheel go roundy roundy REALLY fast. It looks much better now.

I’ve also got the DD-WRT running well and setup using DynDNS. QOS still isn’t working right but it’s probably me and my lack of understanding. I finished rebuilding my data server and I just have a few more pieces of software to install on it. I had a small server.. problem last week while I was gone. It happens.. you fix things and you move on.

I found out that one of the guys I used to work with passed his CISSP. He found out in 2 days instead of 2 weeks. I think he needed to stress more about it personally, but it’s good that he passed. I also learned that one of the guys in the office has his CISSP. So far everyone I’ve talked too thought they where going to fail and yet still passed. Interesting.

No plans for the weekend. I might pick up a bike and go for a ride. Other then that.. not much else going on.
