Another week...

Well, another week and I’m still here. Still don’t have my household goods yet, still sleeping on the floor and still trying to figure out what it is exactly that I’m doing here (at work, not in Rotterdam).

The weather continues to be perfect and I am happier and happier every day. It’s very peaceful to just get out and walk somewhere and not worry about a car, gas or traffic. And I am totally digging the local shopping streets on the weekend. It completely adds to the European experience.

This weekend was spent cleaning again, trying to remove what traces of construction dust and dirt that where left. I also re-wired the outlets for the Washer and Dryer, since the dutch contractor that did it for the landlord decided to not hook up 2 of the 3 leads from the washing machine side, and I was in need of clothes! I also cleaned the balcony and ended up spending a good portion of Sunday out there reading and relaxing. I just finished Xenocide , Children of the Mind, The Illustrated Da Vicni Code and The Illustrated Angels & Demons Angles & Daemons. In the last two book the pictures where fantastic! There is such an amazing history in Italy. I am SOOO looking forward to hitting up Rome.. maybe next spring, before it gets to hot and crazy. Sitting outside and reading is great. It’s odd that i didn’t do it much in DC, but then I realized that in DC it’s nasty hot and humid and here I don’t have those problems.

Other then that it’s been pretty tame. I’ve been studying for my CISSP test this coming weekend, shooting billiards and hanging out with a few of the guys at work. I also got some lights installed in the place (it was a resent remodel, so there weren’t any overhead lights) and took some measurements for some curtains/blinds for the bedrooms. Simple household relaxing things. I do plan on getting out more and exploring the outlining areas, but I need to get things straight at home and caught up before I extend myself.

So.. hopefully, I’ll be getting some cable in at home soon then things will really start to pick up. I tend to be walking home looking at something and want to post about it but don’t since I don’t have a connection of the ability to do so. That will all change soon.

Angles and Daemons eh? A mixture of Geometry and *nix processes? Sounds pretty boring to me. You might want to try a similar book about Angels & Demons though... I’ve heard it’s pretty good.
